Duncan Fletcher appointed Indian coach


Duncan Fletcher

Duncan Fletcher - a Zimbabwean by birth, but now a British citizen - has been appointed coach of the Indian cricket team for two years. Fletcher appointment was made at the Working Committee meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) here on Wednesday.
Fletcher, 62, was the coach of the England team for almost eight years (2000-2007) when England won the Ashes series for the first time in 18 years.
South African Eric Simmons will continue as the bowling coach.
The Working Committee also increased the cash incentive from Rs. 1 crore to Rs. 2 crore to each player of the Indian team that won the ICC CWC 2011 here at the Wankhede Stadium on April 2.
