Cricket Tasmania brokered a deal with Tim Coyle last Friday, ending speculation the coach of six years was headed elsewhere.
Coyle's tenure has seen the Tigers win two Sheffield Shields and three one-day trophies.
The chairman of Cricket Tasmania, Tony Harrison, says Coyle's decision to stay is a great result for Tasmanian cricket.
"He's certainly the most successful coach in Australian cricket at the moment," he said.
Next season marks the start of a new domestic Twenty-20 competition, featuring eight city-based teams, including the Hobart Hurricanes.
Cricket Tasmania says Coyle's involvement with the Hurricanes is yet to be decided.
