Lahore, May 26 (ANI): Pakistan has retained the sixth position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) test rankings after a series-levelling victory in the St. Kitts test match against the West Indies.
Pakistan is now four points ahead of West Indies, who are on seventh spot and 17 points behind fifth-ranked Australia, The Daily Times reports.
Pakistan cricketer, Misbah has leaped eight places to achieve a career-best ranking of 22nd. He is now the second highest-ranked Pakistan batsman after Younus Khan who is in 17th position despite missing the series. Taufiq has clinched 53rd Test position after scoring his fifth Test century and Umar Akmal is in 35th position after climbing two places in the rankings.
For the West Indies, Bravo has climbed up to 60th position, while Sammy is in 69th position. Sachin Tendulkar leads the table followed by South African batsman Jacques Kallis and Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara.
In the ICC Player Rankings for Test bowlers, Saeed Ajmal, judged as player of the West Indies Test series, has achieved a career best ranking of 27th.He is now leading Pakistan bowler. Rehman has moved to 31st spot and Hafeez is now in 56th position. The biggest mover in the bowling chart is West Indies' wrist spinner Devendra Bishoo who has climbed 21 places to occupy 60th spot.
South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn leads the bowling table with Englishmen Graeme Swann and James Anderson in second and third positions, respectively. (ANI)
